aka The Intestinal Failure Unit
Ward B4 Salford Royal Hospital, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Salford, M6 8HD, UK Thirty years of excellence in treating intestinal failure
What do we do? Our expert, caring, multidisciplinary team treats patients from the entire United Kingdom with acute and chronic intestinal failure. We look after every patient as an individual in a dedicated purpose-built environment. Our results for treating patients with some of the most complex intestinal disorders are amongst the very best in the world. What is intestinal failure? Intestine failure exists when there is insufficient functioning intestine to allow healthy life without artificial feeding. Our patients usually develop intestinal failure as a result of complications of abdominal surgery, leading to severe abdominal infection, an intestinal fistula, or extensive disease or removal of the small intestine. |
